Video Game News: Monster Hunter X crosses into the West as Generations

In a rather surprising turn of events, it looks like the west isn’t going to have to wait forever to get their hands on the latest Monster Hunter game. Monster Hunter X is coming to the West as Monster Hunter Generations.

It’s pretty rough being a Monster Hunter fan in the west. They have to endure some pretty lengthy waiting periods before they can catch up with their Japanese counterparts and when you look at what they’re missing out on, you can understand why they might get a little upset. Western fans tend to have to wait until the latest generation game gets its ‘ultimate’ edition before it comes to the West.

Fortunately however, we’re getting X pretty soon.

Announced during the last Nintendo Direct, the localised version of X, Generations, will be making its way to the West some time this year. Considering X came out in November in Japan, and Generations is slated for a “Summer 2016” release, that means that we’ll have had to wait less than a year to get our hands on all the new Monster Hunter goodies in X. Along with getting the game, we’ll also be getting some pretty snazy Fire Emblem themed DLC for the game once it has been released.

Thank goodness for this. While I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the Monster Hunter series, the additions Capcom has made to X/Generations look incredible and I can’t wait to head out on the hunt again some time soon.
