Video Game News: Learn A Little More About Spiders With Overwatch's Latest Shorts

I’m a little torn here. On the one hand, I can’t wait to get my hand on Blizzard’s Overwatch but on the other I just want to see more of these animated shorts. People aren’t kidding when they start comparing Blizzard’s work on Overwatch to Pixar, we’ve known for quite a while that they’re the king of video game cinematics but the charm of Overwatch just makes for something incredibly special.

Overwatch’s latest short, “Alive”, shows off the mysterious Widowmaker in all her deadly glory, giving us a look at the proficiency of the merciless assassin.

“Alive” weaves a tale of Widowmaker, the peerless Talon assassin who stalks her prey with deadly efficiency. In this episode, we spend a fateful night in London’s King’s Row—where you’ll discover how one death can change everything.

This short features Widowmaker as she makes her way to complete another hit until everyone’s favourite time-traveler Tracer comes to spoil her fun. What entails is a lot of fun to watch and gives players some new perspective of Overwatch’s world. While people usually shy away form it, it’s interesting to watch the bad guys win for once and I can’t wait to see what else Blizzard has in store for future shorts.

Overwatch is releasing on the 24th of May with an open beta scheduled for the 5th to the 9th of May.
