While it has been quite a while in the making, we’re finally getting a good look above and beyond the beautiful world of Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight.
This pretty little 2D Metroidvania game is nearing the end of development, but is still a while away from getting a solid release date. Funded through Kickstarter, this indie aims to bring to life a moody, vivid world for players to explore with beautiful but eerie characters.
Even though games like Mighty No. 9 have generated a rather negative stigma for Kickstarter games, I’m still quite hopeful for this game. The fact that the devs haven’t tried to promise the world and aren’t trying to play off the nostalgia factor is a definite plus for them, but they also seem to be taking great care to develop and produce a complete and enjoyable product.
Hollow Knight may still be a little while off, but with pretty trailers like this I don’t mind giving the game all the time it needs.

The best person to offer the worst opinion. Paul's interests include adding 100 hour JRPGs to his backlog and dark walks through dungeons. You'll probably find him rambling on about old man Nintendo or that crazy newfangled eSports thingy.
