We could have called this one. Fantastic 4 Part 2 has been canned indefinitely.

Our fair editor literally banned me from posting my Fantastic 4 review unless I toned down my disgust – I of course refused to tone it down, told the editor to bite me, which he did (with great enjoyment) – and in return I insisted the review was 100% accurate to a T for it’s sheer harshness towards the director and actors.

Though I eventually ended up not posting it…yeah…this went where I expected.

After an absolutely dismal release that flopped almost instantly, plans for the second film have been swept under the rug. So confident they were in the sequel that Fox even announced a sequel for 2017 before the release of the initial first chapter with the first chapter coming under fire before it even hit cinemas.

Rumors of director/producer clashing were rampant and the cast apparently didn’t get along either. It all didn’t translate well onto the screen and considering they basically pooped on the Fantastic 4 canon story from the comics, we really could have seen this coming a mile away.

With a total earning of $167 million worldwide and the sky high production budget of $120 million – this movie actually cost Fox a ton of cash.

There not being a sequel to this film firmly affixes my belief that there is indeed a God.
