While everyone waits for Half-Life 3 from Valve, J.J. Abrams has confirmed that there will indeed be films based on the 2 classic & widely loved games. The better news? – They’ll be made hand in hand with Valve.
Abrams told IGN “they’re in development and we’ve got writers and we’re working on both those stories.”
That’s pretty much all he said and so far a timeline/release date for actually seeing these films entering production is rather far off. It’s also not clear whether it will be one film or two or even a trilogy. I think – most likely a trilogy since these films will probably release some good while after Half-Life 3 hits the shelves.
Abrams is on a good run recently with Star Wars and he continues to impress within the circles of Hollywood – will his streak hold or will he fizzle out? Time will tell…
