Game Play

The basics of the game depends on the role you are playing of which there are three namely hunter, runners and ghosts. Hunters have to stop the players by hitting them with a stop sign, as soon as a player is hit he becomes the hunter so in essence it’s a game of tag. As a runner you have to avoid the Hunter at all costs and prevent other players from stealing your points by hitting them, you can also stun the hunter for bonus points. Ghosts only appear in the Elimination game mode, when you are eliminated you return as a ghost and your objective is to haunt a target player that will be highlighted in pink.

You can familiarize yourself with the level before the game starts.

The game modes that are available at the time of writing are tag and elimination with a third mode called team elimination coming soon. In tag you collect points over three rounds of two minutes each, the winner is the runner with the most points. At the start of the game a random player is chosen to be the hunter and will have to tag someone to make them the hunter, as soon as this happens you will become a runner and can collect point orbs.

Boosting helps you cover ground quickly and escape the hunter.

In elimination mode the hunter has to eliminate all the players using his trusty stop sign, while the runners compete to collect the most points. If a player is eliminated they become a ghost and assigned a haunting target. This game mode also consists of three rounds that last two minutes.

Because the game is focused on streaming the viewers can also get into the action, at the start of every game they place bets on who they think will win. They can also change the rules while the game is in progress for example, they can activate rules such as moon boots that will allow players to jump higher. There are also more deadly rules like floor is lava that on its own is self-explanatory and no touching that will cause runners to explode of they touch each other. This in itself adds a unique feature to the game.

Character Customization

There is also rather substantial collection of customization items to unlock so you can dress up your character to be truly unique. To unlock these items you need packs that are earned through playing the game or by winning the bingo mini game when playing as a viewer. This is also a source of streamote.tv currency that you need to bet on players.

There are infinite possibilities on how you can customize your character.

Servers

Unfortunately there are no local servers for the game and you will have to choose between two US servers and one EU server. That being said I only experienced minor lag spikes during one of my games.

Graphics

Being the first in a new genre called Stream First games one might expect the developer to drop the visual levels of the game, instead they brought a nicely polished game to the table with vibrant colors. From the player models to the point obs everything is perfectly rendered, I did not notice any glitches during the games that I played. Just don’t get to too caught up looking at your surroundings that you don’t notice the hunter sneaking up on you.

The game itself is unique in its execution and will definitely be a hit under live streamers, but will also appeal to the general gamer looking for a new experience.

A unique experience where you can either control the game environment or participate in the mayhem. I suspect that many live streamers will use this game to interact with their audience in a new way. Even non streamers will enjoy this, especially when playing with friends as a group.
