Video Game Feature: Lets Play The Division

Hi everyone welcome to the next episode of let’s play, this week one of my friends joined me on one of the missions of Tom Clancy’s The Division. I first saw a preview of The Division when I attended Rage alongside a preview of Assassins Creed Unity. It’s an open world online only title that has co-op play for the whole campaign and even player versus player.

You can explore the whole map with up to 3 friends.

The scenario revolves around a bio attack on New York involving banknotes infected with a new strain of small pox your, character who is part of the Strategic Homeland Division is activated to assist in the crisis.

Some enemies have extra armor that you have to destroy first.

You start off by establishing a base of operations this is crucial for your mission to be a success, in your base you will have access to three wings namely medical, tech and security. Each of these has upgrades that will grant you skills and permanent perks. To upgrade you need resources specific to each wing and these can be obtained by completing missions.

Rewards are granted after every mission.

Cover is an important part of the game, remember to use it or die quickly.

You will face off against different factions the Rikers are comprised of prisoners that escaped Riker Island, the Cleaners who appear to be New York sanitation workers that have lost their minds burning everything they can see, the LMB or Last Man Battalion a fascist private military company who was abandoned by the government during the evacuation and are now hostile against anyone who assists them. Lastly you will also face rogue division agents.

If you can get to higher ground its always an advantage.

The game also features a PVP area located in the center of the quarantine zone known as the Dark Zone, upon entering this area you will be cut off from the outside world. Its best played as part of a group as you have to defend the area when you extract your items. Everything you collect in the dark zone needs to be flown out for decontamination, but beware other agents can cut the rope and steal your items.

If you are downed you have some time for your friend to revive you. Best crawl to cover fast.
