Welcome to the preview of the beta of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 on PC, as with all betas please note that there can be changes and bugs can be expected. You are greeted with a quick video explaining the basic tactics of sniping and usage of your gadgets.
Driving turned out to be a pleasant experience something that is often overlooked when adding vehicles to a shooter.
Your first objective is to get to your safe house located in the mountains. Most times when you add driving to a shooter you get the feeling that the physics are a bit out of place, I felt that they did a good job achieving a balance in the game.
Your safe house is essentially the hub of the game where you have access to the weapons cache , workbench, bed and laptop. You can use the weapons cache to purchase new guns, attachments like silencers and bi-pod mounts and gadgets raging from silencer repair kits and grenades. Ammunition can also be bought here but you can also craft your own using the workbench.
The player can buy and customize weapons to suite any mission.
When you start a mission you get a general way point to indicate where you need to go, no specifics are given and it’s up to you to gather the information needed to complete the mission. To aid you in this you have access to a drone that will mark hostiles on the map this is crucial for planning, as just going in and taking down targets will result in you getting killed. Using stealth is the key to success, if you are compromised you can still survive by using cover and taking down enemies but chances are you will get taken out.
Enemies can be looted for extra resources used for crafting and buying weapons, resources can also be found scattered around the map in boxes. You can also unlock fast travel points should you wish not to either run or drive across the map, this does help at times eliminating the chance to run into strongholds. Once you start a mission you can not fast travel until you have completed it.
Upgrading your skills will help you use less resources when crafting and improve awareness.
Overall the beta was a fun experience with only one bug encountered by myself, I was using the drone for reconnaissance and upon leaving its view I could not select any weapons and I had to restart the mission.
The drone will help you identify targets and strategic points you can use to distract enemies.
The game also features dynamic weather that will impact your game play.
You can either take out enemies or interrogate them for useful information.
After a successful mission you will get a breakdown of experience earned and see where you can improve.

Staying in a quiet town does have its drawbacks as we don't have the fastest internet, but that wont stop me from enjoying my passion for gaming. Just a quick shout out to my lovely wife who supports my dreams and my friends and all the crazy moments we have encountered in games.
