Earlier this week the console giant celebrated a landmark 10 year anniversary for its 360 console as well as its second birthday for its Xbox One. Maybe Microsoft will get all sentimental and old fashioned on us and release a diamond encrusted console?

To celebrate, I am counting my favourite 360 games over the last decade.

10. Batman Arkham City

One of my favourite Batman games of all time! After a series of awful Batman games, Rocksteady really delivered a great game, jam packed with pure awesome from start to finish.

9. Devil May Cry 4

I loved the storyline, the characters and the sweet ass-kicking moves that Dante developed. The combat options for DMC4 was definitely a major highlight. That, and beating all my friends scores with my finger pushing skills.

8. Left 4 Dead 2

I love this game so much! I have so many great memories killing zombies with my best friend and closing that safe house door in her face. Mwahahahaha! This is another game I own across multiple platforms because that is the level of awesome this game has achieved in my life.

7. Halo: Reach

It is tough to choose between the six Halo games that have come out over the last 10 years. It is one of the most treasured FPS franchises in the gaming industry. However, I think it is pretty safe to say, Reach is by far the pinnacle of the series. It is also one of the toughest and what gamer doesn’t love a good challenge?

6. Fable 1

The Fable series in itself is a very unique game in the RPG genre. It is also one of the most widely loved games which is why it deserves a spot in any Xbox 360 countdown. Although Fable 2 was more ambitious than its predecessor, Fable 2 will always be an absolute masterpiece and was far more polished than its successors.

5. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag

A game about assassin pirates. Many doubted it as when it arrived on our shores faith in the series was at an all-time low. But shiver me timbers, were we in for a surprise! The sailing was so well done, the combat was en pointe and it was wonderful to have a break from the standard city backdrop and take on the open seas. Civil War gets an honourable mention as it led to the death of Desmond.

4. Red Dead Redemption

Now, personally this is not my favourite game. I dislike Rockstar games in general. However, I know I am one of the few people in the world that holds this opinion. Therefore, RDR gets an honourable mention for all the fights I have caused by upsetting its hardcore fans. May there be many more in my future.

3. Tomb Raider

I had zero social life when this game came out on Xbox 360. I have no memories of going to work either. My boyfriend at the time and I geeked out so hard on this game that we finished it on both our profiles within two weeks. What a bunch of nerds.

2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

It was tough to decide, but Modern Warfare takes the prize because of how influential it was on the genre when it came out in 2007. One could even say that the impact COD 4 had on console sales and the online gaming community makes it one of the best games of all-time.

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Coming in at number one, we have the one and only, Skyrim! Even though I have this game on a few platforms, I killed my first dragon on my Xbox 360 and it was magical. My experiences as a Dragonborn will always rank this game as one of the best Xbox 360 games ever made.

So wipe that dust off your 360 and soak up the nostalgia! Happy birthday Xbox 360! Here’s to another 10 years of gaming!
