Dead Island was a good example of a “safe” game. It won’t spark any revolutions, there isn’t anything glaringly wrong and you know exactly what you’re getting into. It’s a co-op focused FPS with zombies where you can craft ridiculous weapons and you explore a world and help people. And honestly, it was pretty fun. It had its share of problems, but I was entertained just fine when I played it.

There was Dead Island that released in 2011 and Dead Island: Riptide that released in 2013. Riptide was a sort of expansion of the original where it was largely the same, but in a different location with some improvements. You have to admit, in this generation of remasters, these games would be perfect for a collection of some kind…

Oh would you look at that, there’s a Definitive Edition that includes both games along with all of the DLC as well as a Dead Island inspired retro game! How convenient.

It will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on the 31st of May.
