Video Game News: Telltale's The Walking Dead Season 3 Is Coming To Plunder Your Feels This Year

Telltale’s The Walking Dead was a triumph in videogame narrative and remains one of my favourite narrative driven franchises ever. It presented us with really tough decisions that would wrench your soul into the ground and told a very touching and human story through its traditional 5 episode structure. Season 1 was phenomenal, Season 2 was no slouch either. But what about Season 3? Season 2 left us on a bit of a cliffhanger so you knew that it had to be coming eventually.

Telltale’s CEO Kevin Bruner says they are aiming for a release later this year and that the ending you took in Season 2 will have a significant impact on your experience. Here is what he had to say:

The way that we’re dealing with and validating and retaining all those different playthroughs is really cool and unexpected and, I think, pretty innovative from the storytelling point of view. From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we’ve ever shown anybody before.We’re going to have a solution for everybody that we’re not talking about it yet.
