Video Game News: June's Games With Gold Is Looking A Bit Better

Xbox’s Games with Gold initiative had a massive boost in confidence in April, with a multitude of great AAA games being released for free. However, they faltered a bit in May giving a less than desirable line-up of titles that doesn’t quite stand up to the strong showing the had the previous month. They really needed to step up a little in June to regain that confidence and they sort of have with this selection. Here are the Games with Gold games for June 2016:

“Goat Simulator”: Available from June 1-30 on Xbox One

“The Crew”: Available from Just 16-July 15 on Xbox One

“Super Meat Boy”: Available from June 1-15 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One

“XCOM Enemy Unknown”: Available from June 16-30 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One

There’s some good games in there with the goofy but lovable Goat Simulator, the slightly average but decent arcade racer, The Crew as well as the indie darling Super Meat Boy and the excellent RTS XCOM Enemy Unknown.

In most respects, a commendable line-up. Not quite pants exploding, but I think people will be fairly happy with the offerings.
