Apartheid. Now there’s a loaded word. Mutter it on Facebook and you’re in for some fun times. But the notion that discriminating against an entire race just because of how they are is still ludicrous to me. How can you just write off an entire group people just like that without a shred of remorse or humanity? I may never know what goes on in the minds of the evil.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided is going pretty heavy-handed (my pun game is on point today) with its premise of “mechanical apartheid”, with humans facing discrimination for being augmented in one way or another. Of course, this fear struck when people with augmentations started going haywire (on point, son) because of some dubious evil that affected these people.
In the game’s new live-action trailer, we’re seeing the more emotional side of all this and the stakes behind everything is made abundantly clear. It’s certainly a well made trailer and I’ll recommend you check it out.
