Oh boy, this just got a whole lot more exciting.
Spec Ops: The Line, for those unfamiliar, was a harrowing walk through the worst of what humanity can do where you get crushed by the pressure of guilt and feeling like a horrible person. Not exactly something you would play when you want to be in a good mood. It was one of the best narratives I have ever witness and this within a game that can be classified as a “modern military shooter” too.
The writer for that soul-crushing game is also behind the writing for Resident Evil 7. Richard Pearsey is his name and the man has some definite talent. He is also responsible for the writing of F.E.A.R. so he has some horror chops too. This also marks the first time that a westerner is writing for the series.
Resident Evil 7 will be a lot more horror focused than previous installments and will also be first person. It will be interesting to see what Pearsey can do with the story and I have no question that his writing will be on a new level.
