Carbine Studious earlier today announced that their Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game title, WildStar is to go Free-To-Play on 29 September 2015.

The update, titled WildStar: Reloaded, will introduce players to big changes, in the form of a new character creation process and intro scenes, improvements to dungeons, itemisation, tradeskills, world bosses, as well as group content. There will also be other features introduced such as a class stat revamp; new quality of life features, bonus events, the Cosmic Rewards program and much more.

This is only the latest MMO to go the Free-to-play route with Elder Scrolls Online doing the same just a few short months ago.

There will of course still be a pay option available for those of you who would like that little bit more content (Ala Elder Scrolls Online’s Plus membership. Some of the features available to those who subscribe to WildStar’s Signature Service can look forward to the following:

Players who want a little more can choose to join WildStar Signature service, which provides new bonuses and rewards on top of the basic game. They can also visit the in-game Store, a new interface which sells cosmetic improvements, character services, progression boosts, and other goodies. The Store accepts good ol’ Earth cash or the new OmniBits currency. What are OmniBits? Only money you can earn just by playing the game, accomplishing goals, and killing all kinds of stuff, that’s what!

WildStar initially released in June of 2014 to mostly positive reviews, but the pay-to-play model proved to be less than popular, as is the case with most MMO’s.

Will you be grabbing WildStar when it goes Free-to-play later month? Let us know in the comments.
