TV Series News: George RR Martin confirmed for Season 2 of Z Nation

In my books this is big news for 2 reasons. First, George RR Martin is going to be in fricken Z Nation! One of my favourite shows of the moment. Second George RR Martin has seemingly confirmed that not even death will stop him from finishing his ‘A Song of Fire and Ice’ series of books.

So yeah, there you have it George RR Martin is set to cameo in the upcoming season of Z Nation. He is set to play a zombie version of himself, signing his final book. The title of the book is welcome tease too, ‘A Promise of Spring’, a funny play at the actual title of the expected 7th book “An Expected Spring”.

“I just want to prove to my fans that even in the Zombie Apocalypse, the Song of Ice and Fire books will still come out!” Martin said when interviewed by Entertainment Weekly .

George will appear in the 8th episode of Season 2 of Z Nation, which is needless to say, already packed to the brim with the most ridiculous zombie-centred stories that you can imagine.

My question though is, is George a zombie, or is he one of “The Others”?

We’ll find out in about 8 weeks time.

Z Nation returns to screens tonight (11 September).
