Table Top Game News: Betrayal At House On The Hill To Receive Its First Expansion

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Betrayal at House on the Hill , where the hell have you been? It’s been around for quite some time and it is most definitely one of the most exciting (and scary) board games to have come out in recent years.

Despite the fact that it’s been out for about a decade already, it is still one of the most played modern board games of our era, which makes it so confusing that there hasn’t been any real expansions since it released. That’s all about to change though as Betrayal lead developer Mike Selinker his team at Lone Shark Games with Wizards of the Coast has announced a brand new expansion called Widow’s Walk .

What’s in the box?

Well according to the product page you can expect the following:

1 rulebook

2 haunt books (Traitor’s Tome and Secrets of Survival)

20 room tiles

8 omen cards

11 item cards

11 event cards

76 tokens, including:

4 large circular monster tokens

36 small circular explorer tokens

36 square event and room tokens

Here’s the official synopses from the game developers:

The house on the hill has a wicked reputation. Those who dare to darken its door often leave steeped in madness and despair—if they leave at all.

Now the horror reaches new heights with Widow’s Walk—the first-ever expansion for the critically acclaimed board game Betrayal at House on the Hill. The house is expanded with the addition of 20 new rooms, including the roof, a previously unexplored floor. Also in its halls you will find new monsters, items, omens, events, and 50 brand-new haunts, penned by lead developer Mike Selinker’s all-star cast of contributors from the world of gaming and entertainment. In Widow’s Walk, terror and panic are taken to a whole new level.

Betrayal at House on The Hill: Widow’s Walk is coming Spring 2016 (South African release). No word yet as to whether or not we will be getting it locally but there may be local distributors that would be willing to import it for you.
