…but we won’t see any of it here any time soon.

While we may not have it locally, Miitomo seems to have blown up and attracted quite a user base. Even if Nintendo’s first mobile app may have seemed a little strange at first, it looks like it’s become quite popular even if it’s mostly being used for memes.

Miitomo has reached over 10 million users which is a pretty decent number for Nintendo’s first foray into the world of mobile. The success of Miitomo bodes well the future of mobile Nintendo, which is why they’ve announced that two popular franchises will be coming to mobile later this year. We’ll be seeing Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing games make their way on to mobile phones later this year.

While they will be simpler than their 3DS counterparts, they will both still be fully fledged games instead of just apps. There hasn’t been all that much revealed about these titles as of yet, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that their prospects make me incredibly excited. These two franchises have the potential to make some pretty enjoyable mobile games, but it’s all up to Nintendo and DeNA to ensure that happens.

The best person to offer the worst opinion. Paul's interests include adding 100 hour JRPGs to his backlog and dark walks through dungeons. You'll probably find him rambling on about old man Nintendo or that crazy newfangled eSports thingy.
