Note from the editor: As of this week, we will be adopting a new format in the way we present DVD or Blu-Ray reviews. If we have previously reviewed the film on Geek Node, we will be linking back to the original review instead of re-reviewing the main product. In addition to this, we will be reviewing DVDs and Blu-Rays according to the following criteria: We will be taking the total score for the original review and combine it with the score we gave the DVD or Blu-Ray based on value for money in regards to the extra content as well as the rewatchability. Should we find ourselves in the position that we did not previously review the film, we will do a full review and score it based on both the previously mentioned criteria.

If you’re a fan of the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe like I am (along with almost every other team member here at Geek Node), then you will have no doubt seen the ASTRA-nomical Doctor Strange by now. If not, where have you been? For those of you, still wondering if it’s a good film to get lost in, check out pfangirl’s superbly written (spoiler-free) review of the magically infused film . But enough of the puns, you’re here to read about the DVD.

Sadly, and this has been a trend as of late, this Marvel DVD does not come with any sort of extra content for those of you who enjoys the behind the scenes or otherwise brilliant content that Marvel is known to include on their distributed media. As a result of this, the cash you will be spending on this DVD will be purely for the film only, which itself is not bad, as you will no doubt see if you haven’t already.

Doctor Strange is one of the most stand-out comic book movie adaptations to date, however, the lack of additional content on the DVD does not lend value to the purchase as much as one would expect. If you're looking for extra content, we rather recommend looking at purchasing the Blu-Ray version of this film
