NEW FAMILY GAMES

Gravwell: Escape from the 9th Dimension

After being pulled through a black hole, four spaceships find themselves in a dimension with physics never before encountered and without fuel. By mining and collecting basic elements from the space dust and asteroids in the area, you can muster just enough thrust to move your ship. But in this bizarre dimension, gravity is not working like how you’ve been taught. Your ship will typically travel towards the nearest object… which is usually another ship… and those ships are moving. Sometimes forwards, and sometimes backwards.

Time is running out to save your crew and your ship! As a grim reminder of the cost of failing to escape, the frozen hulks of dead spacecraft litter the escape route. But with careful card play, you can slingshot past these derelict craft and be the first to escape from the Gravwell!

Airlines Europe

The age of passenger aviation has begun. Courageous entrepreneurs establish the first airlines and compete for the few available licenses in the European air space. The rapidly growing market and the chance for high gains attract high-powered investors. But only the ones that use their influence skillfully and their cash wisely will turn their investments into the most profitable airlines.

Sapiens

The time has come for the tribe to head for new horizons. As clan chief, guide your prehistoric people through the valley. Hunt and gather food, discover safe caves for the upcoming winter, and interact with the other nomad groups. Gather your tribe and discover the valley!Connect tiles to create a path for your tribe through the valley. Along the way, your tribe will gather food and search for suitable shelter in caves. At the end of the game, players compare the weaker of their two domains: the player with the most points in the weaker domain wins!

Skyliners

It is every architect’s dream to change the face of a city, and playing Skyliners offers you just that. In this new strategic game, players need to erect towers out of the Skyliners box itself, piling floors on top of each other in order to obtain the best view possible! Unless you’d rather spend you time ruining your opponents’ view?
Lanterns: The Harvest Festival

Lanterns: The Harvest Festival is a tile placement game set in imperial China. Players act as artisans decorating the palace lake with floating lanterns. The artisan who earns the most honor before the festival starts wins the game. Lantern’s elegant and engaging game-play by designer Christopher Chung features a unique mechanic were players must balance the placement of their tiles or risk helping their opponents on their way to victory. It’s a give and take that provides hours of depth and strategy.

On a turn, a player places a tile depicting various color arrangements, and every player receives lantern cards based on the tile placed. Players dedicate sets of lantern cards to gain honor and favor.

Isle of Skye

In Isle of Skye: From Chieftan to King, the players are chieftains of 5 famous clans in Isle of Skye, one of the most beautiful places in the world. The players are trying to build their kingdoms and score as many points as possible.

In each turn, each player places two tiles in front of him and specifies a price for other players. The other players can choose whether or not to buy the tiles – if no one buys it, then the seller must pay the price and lose money. Players must use all their wagering and speculation skills to come out on top.

But in the end, it’s not the richest player who wins, but the player with the best kingdom, scored by the scoring cards. The game comes with 16 scoring cards, but only 4 are used in each game, so each game is different.

Saboteur

You are dwarves digging for gold in the depths of a mine when suddenly, the pick-axe breaks, and the lantern goes out. The saboteur has struck again! But who is the saboteur and will he (or they!) stop you from reaching the treasure? If you succeed, gold awaits you. If you don’t, then to the victor goes the spoils. Whoever has the most gold nuggets after three rounds is the winner.

Saboteur 2

The Saboteur 2 expansion adds new role cards (the boss, profiteers, geologists) to the base game, new action cards (steal gold, change your role), and new tunnel cards featuring doors, ladders and bridges. What’s more, the gold seekers can now be divided into teams — blue vs. green — and only those on the team that finds the gold score anything — assuming that anyone finds the gold at all, of course…

No Thanks!

Good card games can be so simple: either take a card or pay a chip. Anyone can make that decision, right? However, there’s a catch – in fact there are two. Nobody wants the cards, not even for free, because they give you points in a game where you need to have the fewest points to win. And the chips? They are scarce, very scarce. An excellent filler game that appeals to non-gamers as well.

6 Nimmt!

6 Nimmt! is a counting card game designed by Wolfgang Kramer in 1994 and published by Amigo Spiele. This game allows 2–10 players who start with ten randomly numbered cards. These are played in simultaneous turns onto four card stacks with the goal of limiting the number of points (in the form of Bulls’ Heads distributed among the cards) you’re forced to take. Each player attempts to play their cards without laying their 6th card on a stack, as this results in a penalty of collecting all cards in the stack. Each card indicates penalty points with the number of bull heads on top of the card. After any player reaches 66 points the player with the least penalty points wins.

Medieval Academy

In Medieval Academy, each player takes the role of a squire who wants to outdo the others in the different training categories to score Chivalry Points. To achieve this goal, during the six turns of the game, the players must wisely draft the cards that are the most useful to them and play them at the right time to move their discs up the training tracks.

At the end of turn VI, the squire who has the most Chivalry Points wins the game and is knighted by King Arthur!

Booty

In this pirate-themed card game, players will begin each round by revealing treasure cards with varying types of booty such as immediate points, cards that cancel other cards, and hidden items to keep all the pirate players guessing. Each round, the Quartermaster role moves from player to player, whose job it is to divide the treasures into shares. The Quartermaster also selects the order of picking treasures in the next round. Balancing what you need, what others might want, and trying to get a little extra into your treasure pile is the key to success! The game also includes building cards that provide special benefits and allow for unique game experiences every time you play.

Carcassonne:Over Hill and Dale

They say agriculture is the most noble employment of man, and Carcassonne: Over Hill and Dale wanted to offer players the gratifying feeling of providing for the people. In this new game, towns and castles make room for fields of fruits and vegetables. Collect them all, build stables to house animals, and walk down a hill to make even more points!
