As the successor of the previous Prey, where you played a Native American using a variety of original weaponry and gravity based powers to thwart the aliens who abducted your beloved, PREY 2 or PREY as we’ll call it is an entirely unrelated game. A new IP for that matter and a fantastic one at that!

Showing heavy influence from the industry greats like Bioshock, Deus Ex and even Dishonored, PREY is an amalgamation of working concepts in an intriguing world, wrapped up in a tense and engrossing story line.

What I love so far:

- Just enough RPG mechanics to keep the action flowing but make character progression enjoyable.

- Alternative route options maintain a linear and manageable path but add flexibility and choice to how you manage to get there.

- The magnificently themed world, trending towards a late 60’s vibe with a futuristic look.

- Interesting enemies, mimics are a bunch of fun and pretty terrifying at times.

- Auto Turrets, that you can use and move around to assist you in kerbing the mimic infestation!

- Crafting, upgrades and a very interactive environment to loot!

What I dislike so far:

- Cheap scares… Okay. This is mostly just because I’m easy to scare!

- Performance seemed a little shoddy at times on the Xbox One.

- Wrench combat sucks for the most part – Nothing a patch can’t fix though.

Watch as we play through the First Hour Demo below, and look out for our review later this month!
